AN OUTING FOR MOLLY (and Us)

We were feeling a little bored and stressed. Our dog acted like she could sense it. She was stressed too. After some debate we decided to take her to the state park and see if she could get to the water. It was quite busy but we found a trail that led to the ‘point‘. There were rocks near the shore and after some coaxing, Molly ventured out. Ed would throw a stick and she would try to get it without going over her head.
Her eyes were big and round with excitement as she kept trying and then looking at us for approval. One time she almost swam but turned back quickly since it was deeper than she liked. We enjoyed watching her and laughing at her attempts.

Ed enticed her on to a big rock. The skidoos going back and forth caught her attention and she almost fell off. You could hear her nails scraping as she slid down trying desperately to stay on the boulder. When she hit the water she scrambled to get back on dry land.

We continued on the trail and came to another open spot but she ‘put her brakes on’ when it came to going into the water. She clearly said “I’ve had enough, thank you!”

The next thing that caught her attention was some boys playing Frisbee. “Throw it here! Let me catch it!” was her clear exclamation. Everyone laughed as Ed had to drag her away.

It was a fun time for us all. We went home ‘joyful and glad in heart’ for all the good things the Lord has done.
